Reaction Time, Explosive Leg Power
Index, and Average of Four Vertical Jumps Place
the jumping mat on a level surface. Have the player stand with
both feet shoulder width apart on the mat. Turn the computer on.
The display should read "Jump 4 Times". Have the player jump 4
times as high as they can and when they land back on the mat after each
jump instruct them to jump as quick as they can on the balls of their
feet without landing on their heels and without tucking their legs.
When the player has completed their jumps, the display will read on the
left side ground time (time on mat), in the middle will be displayed the
explosive leg power index (air time divided by ground time), on the
right side average vertical height of the four jumps. This is an
excellent tool for measuring plyometric training progress. |
